Most of Us Are Magnesium Deficient

Like calcium, magnesium is an essential mineral needed by humans to sustain life.  Proper levels of magnesium are needed for cells to function correctly.  Dr. Lawrence Resnick, MD, of Cornell University may have said it best: "Without enough magnesium, cells simply don't work."

In 2006, the World Health Organization reached a consensus that a majority of the world's population is magnesium deficient. Likewise, in 1995, the Gallop Organization conducted a survey and found that 72% of adult Americans consume less than the Recommended Daily Allowance for Magnesium.  The reason for this is that our food and drinking water only contain 50% of the magnesium it did just 100 years ago.

The Connection to Muscle Cramps

As we age our muscle cells lose their magnesium.  This occurs because we dont get enough magnesium in our diet and our body is using up magnesium faster then we can replenish it.  The result is that magnesium stored in muscle cells is taken out and used for other vital purposes.

When too much magnesium exits the muscle cells, calcium (which normally resides mostly on the outside of cells) flows into the cell to take its place.  This inward flux of calcium continues until a crisis point is reached and the cell becomes "over-calcified."  When this occurs, the muscle cells don't function optimally.  This magnesium imbalance can cause muscles to cramp.

Keep in mind that when it comes to muscle function, magnesium and calcium work together, but produce opposing action.  Calcium helps the muscle to contract, while magnesium assists with the opposite action: muscle relaxation.  When muscle cells get over-calcified, they can reach a point of "sustained contraction", without adequate relaxation.  This event produces a muscle cramp.

If muscle cramps are due to magnesium deficiency, why can't we just take magnesium supplement pills to correct the situation?  The answer to this question lies in the fact that our digestive tract only absorbs a small percentage of magnesium (10-15%) as it passes through our body, with the rest eliminated.  And if you try to take extra magnesium pills to compensate, you get abdominal pains or diarrhea.

Rejuuv is Different
Rejuuv works using a process called "transdermal absorption."  When applied directly onto the muscle area, the magnesium within Rejuuv passes through the skin and into the underlying muscle fibers where it goes to work.  The result is very high levels of magnesium delivered to a localized muscle area, rendering unsurpassed results.  Unlike traditional magnesium supplements, Rejuuv solves the absorption barriers and produces no abdominal or bowel problems.

skinSORB-5 Absorption Technology

To produce the skin absorption of magnesium, Rejuuv utilizes skinSORB-5 absorption technology.  skinSORB-5 is a proprietary formulation of natural minerals that enable the magnesium absorption process to occur.
